Janice Campbell lives in central Virginia with her husband Donald and within a happy distance from her children and grandchildren. She spent more than twenty years homeschooling her four boys from preschool all the way through high school. Janice has a love for homeschooling and spends her time writing and speaking, mostly about homeschooling. She also co-leads a Bible study group and helps teach classes for new believers at church. Janice has a variety of interests, including calligraphy and illumination (especially with Scripture), singing in a chorale, visiting beautiful and historical places, reading good books, and doing creative handwork.

Classics Based Writing will help your student recognize excellent writing, understand various literary terms and techniques, and expand his/her vocabulary. Your student will use copywork, analysis, transformation of the work copied, and finally create their own work. The lessons can be done sequentially or in any order you choose. The course, as presented, is worth one-half credit. If you would like to use it as part of a full English credit, you must add four or more full-length works of classic literature, a solid roots-based vocabulary program, and an 8- to 15-page research paper on the topic of your choice.
