Kelly Benedict is going on to her 25th year of homeschooling and is a mother of 9. She and her husband are awaiting the birth of their 15th grandbaby. She and her family, only 4 of whom are still in the nest, live in a tiny country town in Iowa.

She writes lesson plans for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine®, writes for SchoolhouseTeachers.com, and contributes to the Homeschooling with Heart blog. She specializes in Charlotte Mason’s theories and philosophies, which she studied during a year of college through True North, and has used CM’s methods over the years.

She is also involved in making creams, butters, and other healthy products using essential oils and is a distributor of Young Living Essential Oils.

It covers the why of teaching writing, narration, copywork, dictation, living books, descriptive writing, expository writing, narrative writing, persuasive writing, imaginative writing, spelling, and grammar.
