Heidi Kinney

Heidi Kinney began her professional career as a mathematics teacher. She taught at the middle school, high school, and college level. Pursuing another passion, writing, led her to complete graduate courses in writing and publishing. When an opportunity arose at an educational publishing company that would allow her to use several of her skills, she transitioned from teaching to mathematics editor. In this role she performed research, wrote and edited textbook material, created teacher-support resources, and evaluated curriculum. After the birth of her first child, she became a freelance editor. Although homeschooling had never been on her radar, God put it there in 2007. Since that time, she and her children have enjoyed many homeschool adventures together. Today, in addition to teaching at home and at her homeschool co-op, Heidi continues to write and complete freelance assignments.  She shares homeschool lessons on her blog, Shared Lessons, at heidikinney.com.
