Whether the homeschool art student has tried to draw an object that they couldn’t quite get to look the way they wanted or maybe knew where they were trying to go with a drawing but just didn’t know how to get there, these drawing lessons are for them!

Most developing artists have more art aptitude than they realize, but raw talent needs guidance, practice, and encouragement to excel. Drawing with Realism gives the homeschool art student all three. Many creative people are visual learners, so watching a step-by-step video demonstration of drawing realism tips as they draw along with the instructor is a wonderful way to learn and grow to really understand techniques that can help them draw with amazing results.

Each unit provides the student with a four-part challenge, showing the how-tos of creating realistic drawings, with every new subject an object or creature that features an interesting texture (e.g. furry, reflective, prickly, leathery, slippery, etc.). The homeschool art student can download the image to draw from, but they can also apply the techniques learned to similarly textured objects of their choice. Each video enables the student to go back and watch any portion of the homeschool art lesson as many times as they like to see how to achieve the desired result.

Students will never regret taking on the challenge of learning to draw well.  Some skip drawing lessons altogether (often because of fear, thinking they can’t even draw a stick figure) and want to get right to the “fun” stuff. But drawing is very fun—incredibly fun once the artist learns the secrets of drawing well. Homeschool teens won’t feel like hiding their work from curious eyes; they’ll gain confidence at their ability to draw with excellence. Drawing skill can be an indispensable tool in the homeschool art student’s artistic toolbox that will continue to enhance their work in every other medium throughout their artistic career.

Each unit of drawing realism is a stand-alone project, though the four weekly homeschool art lessons should be done in order for the unit(s) chosen.
