Jan Bower is the creator of Drawing Success, a video drawing course for teens. She has painted hundreds of commissioned portraits and illustrated sixteen children’s books. Several of her books have won national awards, and her paintings have won numerous awards at fine art fairs. Over the years, many budding artists have bloomed in Jan’s studios under her teaching. She especially enjoys encouraging those who doubt their abilities, and she has a gift for helping students achieve artistic success while enjoying the process.

Jan is a mother of twelve and grandmother to an ever-growing number. She has been homeschooling her children since 1984. Her top artistic goal is to glorify God and point people to Jesus Christ through her artwork. When not in her studio, she enjoys gardening, jogging, and spending time with her family. She and Gary, her husband of 36 years, live in Traverse City, Michigan, where they write and illustrate their Christian children’s books.
