More About Our What’s Next? Discovering God’s Will for Your Life Course

This course is designed to provide encouragement as you ask the question, “What’s Next?” and work to determine God’s will for your life. Through the lives of various Biblical characters, you are able to see how God answered that question for them. You will see that many of the people who are mentioned in the Bible have asked that very same question throughout their lifetime. Consider Elijah’s concern when things didn’t work out the way he expected them to. What about Moses? He was at his wit’s end and didn’t know where his next step would take him. Ruth’s life was turned upside down. She wasn’t even sure where she was going to gather enough food for her and her mother-in-law.

Abram, who later became Abraham, seemed to be in a constant state of transition. He moved from place to place, and when he arrived, he had a hard time waiting for what was next, often taking matters into his own hands. Then there’s Esther. She had no parents, no hometown, and no control over her circumstances. Her choices were made for her. Last but not least, we will read about Mary and Joseph’s story. The news of God’s gift to Mary seemed to be anything but a gift.

Each of these Bible characters experienced the same types of uncertainty we deal with today, and in each story, God showed up to help. This same God will show up and meet us too, right in the midst of our “What’s Next?”
