Fractions can appear confusing and frightening to students. Likewise, teaching fractions might also appear frightening to the parent who wasn’t a “math person” in school. Laura Baggett effectively demystifies the concept of fractions so that parents can gain a firm understanding of what they are and how they work, to then pass that understanding on to their students.

Laura knows what it’s like to try to grab a few minutes of quiet in a house full of kids (her second video was filmed in her closet!). With that in mind, she has broken this refresher course on fractions down into twenty-three bite-sized, self-paced videos or handouts. The videos range from just two minutes in length to thirteen minutes, and the majority of the videos are under ten minutes long. The total length of this course is about an hour and a half.
