Getting Started with Our Everyday Astronomy Homeschool Science Curriculum

The lessons in this Everyday Astronomy homeschool science course begin with the study of the sun and move to each planet as the lessons progress. The lessons are presented to appeal to students of all ages, with grade-appropriate assignments in each. They provide a basic understanding of the solar system, along with some fun activities, including recipes for families to enjoy and virtual “field trips” that introduce the history of some discoveries and accomplishments mankind has made in relation to space.

Overview

• 36 weeks, 5 days a week and 18 weeks, 5 days a week (high school option)
• Includes text-based lessons, activities, recipes, short stories, and links to additional information
• Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 12

Supplies Needed

Corresponding lessons on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, notebook or folder to keep assignments and printed material, additional supplies for activities as noted on lesson plans for individual units

What to Do

Go to Class Lessons and download the lesson plan and files for the Sun unit. Start with the Day 1 reading assignment. Follow the instructions each day on the lesson plan and check them off when completed.

There are science projects, assignments, short stories, and even appetizing astronomy recipes. This course is designed for multiple grade levels. It can be completed by individual students or by families who wish to study together.
