How to Use This Course
Chemistry: All Things Matter is a 12-week course that will help middle school students learn the important fact that all things are made of matter. Then they will discover how matter exists and changes. Using this basic understanding, the student will advance in learning to determine the states of matter, the physical reactions matter goes through, and how different types of matter combine (or do not combine) in everyday life. Vocabulary, reviews, and an exam are included, along with experiments which should be overseen by a parent. Chemistry: All Things Matter is a perfect fundamental science course to give your student a basic background and prepare them for the more difficult science courses to come in their education. Numerous links to sites that will help in your student’s study are included.
I’m Anna Crisostomo, and I love to make science fun and interesting. We’re going to take a twelve-week journey into the world of matter. We’ll look at solids, liquids, and gasses. We’ll learn about the states of matter, density, and the periodic table. We’ll also look at substances, compounds, mixtures, and many other topics. There are printable worksheets, links to web resources, and even a few fun songs (trust me, they are hilarious!). This introductory course is best suited for upper elementary and middle school students. Parents, please be aware and take all necessary safety precautions when doing the experiments. I hope you all learn a lot and have fun!
