Elaine obtained her BA in History and Missouri State Teaching Certification at the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) in 2005. She took a position teaching 5th grade at Crocker Elementary, where she remained for 3 years. In 2008, she returned to her alma mater as a Program/Project Support Specialist. In that position she worked extensively with international students and traveled both domestically and internationally for marketing purposes. In 2015, she married Jason Hood, a former missionary to Central America, and they currently travel the United States as he ministers in churches across the country. She loves reading, writing, scrapbooking, cooking, gardening, and playing with their dog, Trixie.

Starting Out with First Grade Math: This full-year Starting Out with First Grade Math homeschool course introduces first graders to the basic math concepts they need to build a strong foundation. Through printable assignments, young homeschool students explore numbers, greater and less than, addition, subtraction, fact families, and much more. Also included is of parent helps and hands-on options for children.

Stepping Up with Second Grade Math: This full-year course builds on math knowledge previously learned to help second graders learn additional key math skills including skip counting, place value, regrouping, story problems, multiplication, division, geometric vocabulary, and much more.
