Welcome to Our African American Literature Homeschool Language Arts Course
Would you like to a take a closer look at the contributions of African Americans in literature? African American Literature is a seven-unit advanced language arts course that examines themes in African American works from the oral tradition to contemporary authors. High school students explore the literary traditions of African Americans found in poetry, short stories, essays, drama, journals, and other writings. Students engage in various learning experiences including audio/visual resources and multimedia technologies as well as reading assignments, analysis and review questions, and writing assignments.
