Course Sample for Our Schoolhouse Spelling Homeschool Language Arts Course
Week Five—Day One
Welcome to Charlotte Mason Monday! Charlotte Mason Mondays include: (a) a Charlotte Mason activity using six of our eleven spelling words for the week, and (b) all eleven spelling words and definitions. You can use today’s Charlotte Mason activity alone for the week, the non-Charlotte Mason-themed activities on days two through five, or use all five days of activities together, whatever fits your family’s needs.
Here is our list of words for this week.
- memories—remembrances; everything you remember
- remorse—contrition; deep feelings of regret for a wrong that was done
- concerned—having to do with
- heroes—people admired for their bravery, good deeds, or contributions in a field
- envy—jealousy; having bad feelings about someone who has what you want
- unkindness—cruelty; harshness; being ungracious
Bonus Words
- standard—requirement; criterion; something used to compare other things to
- examination—inspection or test
- constant—never stopping; continuous; perpetual
- scheduling—planning or arranging for a special time
- parental—having to do with a father and mother; supervisory
Read each of the words. Now, go back over the words again. Say the word aloud. Spell the word aloud. Say the word aloud again.
Write each of the words one time. Write your bonus words two times. Don’t forget to include the definitions when you copy the words.
