Spelling is a lifelong skill. Schoolhouse Spelling homeschool language arts lessons help students of all ages learn to spell well. From kindergarten to twelfth grade, students will enjoy the fun spelling word video presentations that accompany each spelling word list. Activities and lessons vary from grade to grade.

What to Do

Go to Lessons and download the lesson plan and lesson file for the selected level. Start with the Day 1 assignment. Follow the instructions each day on the lesson plan and check them off when completed.

More About Our Schoolhouse Spelling Homeschool Language Arts Curriculum

The Schoolhouse Spelling homeschool language arts curriculum is presented based on grade level. Schoolhouse Spelling: Kindergarten is designed to help young homeschool students learn letter sounds and how they fit together to make words. Schoolhouse Spelling offers different levels for Grades 1–12 that will help homeschool students learn to spell many words they will encounter in their other courses and throughout daily life.  Grades 1-4 explore spelling rules, and fifth grade serves as a review of the rules learned in earlier grades. Grades 6–12 focus more on roots and affixes, as well as commonly misspelled words and practical words from science, math, and history. 

NEW for 2024: The Kindergarten, First, and Third Grade levels of Schoolhouse Spelling is now available as an interactive course on interactive.SchoolhouseTeachers.com.

NEW for 2025: The Second Grade level of Schoolhouse Spelling is now available as an interactive course on interactive.SchoolhouseTeachers.com.
