More About Our Beginning Handwriting and Phonics Curriculum

Our Beginning Handwriting and Phonics curriculum starts with tracing activities to help your student learn pencil grip and other important pre-writing skills. Then it moves on to letter recognition, letter formation, and phonics, one letter at a time. After learning about each letter and incorporating a letter review, it continues with number recognition and formation.

Multiple activities are provided for each letter of the alphabet and the numbers 0–10, including an animal poster, letter formation station, beginning sound matching game, coloring page, trace the letter, spin and color, I spy the letter and I spy the number, number mats, and more. An additional activity is provided for practice with the numbers 11–20.

The activities are available as individual downloads on the lessons page so parents can pick and choose any activities for additional practice as needed, without having to complete the entire curriculum.
